  • Understanding the origins of attachment theory and its key contributors. Exploring the four different types of attachment styles: secure, anxious, avoidant, disorganized. Understanding how early childhood relationships shape adult attachment patterns.

  • Identifying key signs and behaviours that help identify attachment styles in therapy. Also identifying attachment dynamics over all areas like individuals, couples and families. Some mental health concerns overlap attachment issues so identifying the difference.

  • Tailored attachment therapy for unique client groups. How attachment styles are different across different populations, cultural considerations and their impact on attachment work. Strategies for working effectively with each population.

  • Interventions target specific needs: anxious attachment by reducing fear of abandonment and fostering self-soothing, avoidant by encouraging vulnerability and trust, and disorganized by creating safety and addressing trauma.

  • Learning techniques to strengthen secure attachment in clients. Discussing counselling theories that follow attachment based interventions. Strategies to adapt attachment-focused interventions tailor made for individual client needs.

Ms. Felicia is a trauma-informed, queer-affirmative counselling psychologist who is deeply committed to supporting individuals, couples, and families as they navigate the complexities of life. With a Master’s in Counselling Psychology, her approach blends postmodern therapies, especially Existential Therapy and Narrative practices, with a focus on attachment theory. In her work as a Marriage and Family, Couples Therapist Ms. Felicia helps clients explore how early experiences shape the way we connect with others. She believes that understanding attachment styles can help with a deeper understanding of our relationships—whether they’re with partners, family members, or ourselves. She works with clients to identify patterns, heal wounds, and create more secure, meaningful connections. As a trainer, her goal is to empower you with knowledge that’s not only theoretical but also practical, helping you guide your clients to find safety, connection, and authenticity in their relationships.
